I really like the characters in this book. Alex Rider, the main character, is really heroic and saves, basically the world in this book. I think that what keeps me reading this book is the suspense. Once in a while, I guess I'm looking for something that has suspense in it. Once I pick it up, it's pretty hard to put it down. It's sort of working as a reading pleasure, but some parts are terrifyingly scary, making me jump to the edge of my seat. There are occasionally boring bits in this book, like there are in most books. I think that someone would definitely like this book, that is, if they like suspense, and adventure, because this book is pretty complex but interesting. I picked this up because I've read it before, and it's pretty good, and because I didn't have a book for this assignment, so I chose a good book that I already read. I pick up any book that I think is interesting, and I always accept recommendations for books, because I just like trying out books. I guess my favorite kind of books to read are adventure-ish books. These are my reflections on this book.

I went through a serious espionage thriller reading stage when I was in high school. I read those thick Robert Ludlum/Ken Follet books (the Bourne books and the precursors - The Holcroft Covenant for example). I loved spy/adventure/thriller/conspiracy books. They are just fun to read for exactly the reasons you cite - scary, involving, intriguing, mysterious. All good things.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I stopped reading them; I don't know why. I should get back to reading them - they pulled me right into the book. I would be on page 24 and the next thing I knew I would be on page 240.
What's next for you?
Thank you for commenting on my blog assignment. The next thing that I will probably read is another Alex Rider book. Even though I have read the whole series, I seem to never get bored of them no matter how many times I read it. I hope I will find something similar to the Alex Rider books, so I don't get bored of re-reading the Alex Rider books.
